Our Silent Auction was a great success! The preliminary totals show that we have exceeded all of our expectations. Thank you to everyone who participated in this wonderful event.
A special “thank you” to Lauren Mendenhall for heading up the event--and a big thank you to Mark and Vickie Mendenhallfor allowing us to hold our auction at their unique museum. For many of the guests it was their first time visiting the museum--and it was a hit with everyone. Thank you Lauren, Mark and Vickie!
Thank you to all of the fundraising committee members--Lauren Mendenhall, Erin and Eric Zivic, Marin Carey, Rachael Cardoza, Heather Mc Pherson, Heather Gauld, Joanna Crookston, Lauren Fritz, and Chantel Green.
Erin and Ericpicked up baskets, gift cards and auction items from all over the valley. Erichelped with set-up Friday night and both Erin and Ericwere very involved on the day of the event. Erin was also instrumental in keeping us organized. Lauren Fritzdid a great job of thinking outside of the box--she was able to get SB Zoo tickets, the hot air balloon ride, the Biltmore Brunch--just to name a few. Joanna Crookstonand her two children handed out flyers to most of the Solvang businesses and Joanna helped with clean-up Saturday night. Rachael Cardoza also handed out flyers, picked up donations and was a great back up support for Lauren M. Marin Careywas successful in getting Santa Barbara businesses to donate and was our CostCo shopper. Heather McPherson helped with the Friday night set-up and did a wonderful job of setting up all 88 auction items in a very tight space. An extra big thank you goes to Heather Gauld who probably has the biggest job of all—sending out thank you’s and donation receipts! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you to Rosa Andrade for wrapping all of our baskets--they were beautiful. --we appreciate all of your creative work! Thank you to our helpers at the event--John and Beth Tinsley, Joanna Crookston and Rinat Medalsy. We were so glad you were there to help!
Thank you to the Zaca Center Preschool Teachers--Cheryle and Annette for their creative table decorations and their fun thank you posters. Thank you to all of the Zaca Teachers--Cheryle, Annette, Sharee, Adriana and Sylvia who helped set-up and clean-up on the day of the event.
Thank you to the Rabobank Crew--Evania Hernandez (Ivana’s mom), Sonia Jimenez (Zaca alumni parent) and Ed Grand(Zaca alumni parent) for taking care of the check-in on the day of the event, managing the money throughout the night and for the auction collection at the end of the night.
Thank you to Parker Grand(Zaca alumni) for basket organization, set-up, clean-up, check in and anything else Ms. Shelley needed. A big “thank you” to Jake Skidmore (Zaca alumni parent) and Firestone Brewing Company, Kady Fleckenstein(Kyan’s mom) and Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company and Chantel Green(Cali’s mom) and Terravant Wine Company— these companies donated all of the beer and wine for our event. Thank you to El Rancho Market, Taco Roco, Antonio’s Pizza, Tower Pizza, Albertson’s & Nielsen’s Marketfor the food donations.
It would be great if our parents show their support to our local businesses that showed us so much support. We are hopeful our families will frequent these businesses and thank them for being so generous!
