Prior to your child’s first day of attendance, you and your child will meet with the director to view the school and meet the staff. We will also review all of the forms and answer any questions that you may have.
During your registration visit with the center director, you and the staff will decide which classroom would be the best placement for your child. We recognize that children develop at different rates therefore each child’s classroom placement will be where the staff and parents feel that he or she will fit best. We occasionally have the need to add classrooms, depending on the ages and developmental needs of the children enrolled in our program.
Children typically move from Butterfly Group, to Ladybug/Dragonfly Group and then to Caterpillar Group. The majority of classroom changes take place in September of each school year. The staff will work together to form class lists for the upcoming school year. You will be notified of the preschool staff’s recommendation of your child’s classroom placement during the month of July. If at any time you are not comfortable with your child’s placement, please let the center director know so that we can make appropriate arrangements.
