Children in Ladybug Group may be experiencing preschool for the first time. They are learning how to become comfortable in the preschool setting without the support of their family.
They work on their social and emotional skills by learning how to play cooperatively with their peers, by sharing space and materials. They spend time working on their self-help skills by using the bathroom with minimal adult support, washing their hands and attempting to put on and take off their jackets. They serve their own snack and lunch and pour their own drinks. When the meal times are over, the children place their plates, cups and utensils in the appropriate bins. Ladybug Group children spend a great deal of time finger painting, easel painting, socializing, working together, group time, sand play, dramatic play, bike riding, running, balls, obstacle courses, science activities, sensory activities, stories, games, songs, music, block play, playdough, and much more… |
